The true gauge for the level of corruption and degradation of a society is by trying to be ‘good’ in such a society. And from good, I mean being good in a traditional sense. And that would mean to do or think anything with love and compassion. Love and compassion towards our whole surrounding. Not only human beings, but towards whole natural world around us.
And if by doing so, you anger the society, if it turns against you, if you don’t succeed, if all of your efforts fail and your plans flounder, if you are, in a sense, punished for being good, know that you are living in a decaying and corrupt society on path of destruction.
